West Portland Boxing
West Portland Boxing is a non-profit organization offering boxing skills to children and adults regardless of ethnicity, nationality, gender, size, experience, or ability. Our mission is to prepare our youth to become the country’s best hope for representing the United Sates in international boxing competitions and to provide boxing skill training for all ages in a safe environment.
West Portland Boxing has been a member of United States Amateur (USA) Boxing since 1979. All instruction is given by coaches registered with and certified by USA Boxing and who undergo annual background checks and Safesport training.
Team Workout
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6 to 8 PM.
For athletes as young as 8 years old to those as old as 80 who want to train to compete in USA Boxing sanctioned competitions at local to national and international levels.
Fitness Workout
Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5 to 6 PM; Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 10 to 11 AM.
Cardio-strength boxing training for all ages, but without sparring.
Cost
Your first class is free. Costs are a $80 annual registration fee plus $20 monthly dues. To sign up or try it out, show up fifteen minutes before the start of class and speak to a coach. Minors must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver. The only equipment needed are handwraps and maybe some water and a hand towel. Handwraps and gloves are available for purchase.
All income goes to support our amateur boxing team. We provide our team with gear, travel, and lodging expenses along with skills for personal discipline in order to provide a positive influence for our boxing community. If you’d like to sponsor a youngster on our team, please see one of the coaches. All donations are tax deductible.
How to Help
Ask one of our coaches if you’re interested in volunteering to become a USA Boxing certified official to help at our local amateur boxing events.

West Portland Boxing is located in the basement of the Garden Home Recreation Center, 7475 SW Oleson Road at the corner of Garden Home and Oleson Roads in southwest Portland, Oregon.
